Finding (and Landing!) Indie Author Clients
$80.00
Description
$80 (Member price: $72) | How to land indie author clients | 4 lessons | Self-paced | Intermediate
If you’re looking to build a sustainable freelance editing business, this class is for you! I’ve designed it for editors who have landed a few clients but want to figure out how to create a consistent flow of projects. You have the skill to do the work, you just struggle with marketing. You want freelance editing to provide a more reliable flow of income, whether you’re a part-time or a full-time freelancer.
This class also assumes you know the basics: that networking is important and you probably ought to be visible on at least one social media outlet.
But we’re going to go deeper than that! We’ll dive into:
- building your confidence in your work (and in your marketing!)
- figuring out what indie authors may be looking for in an editor
- identifying what indie authors want from an edit
- connecting with authors where they naturally congregate
- what your messaging is saying about you (it may not be what you think)
- speaking to indie authors’ problems
- creating trust and connection with potential clients
- red flags with indie author clients
- working effectively with indie author clients
- and more!
*No answer keys are provided for this class, as the content is such that each student’s responses will be different and subjective to their own situation.
Intermediate classes are intended for those with some developmental editing experience or who have taken the Beginning + Intermediate DE for Fiction classes or the self-paced DE 1 through 6 classes.
The class is entirely online and asynchronous (you don’t have to be in any particular place at any particular time to participate).
